The 5th edition of the “Nature in Contact” Festival opens in Civitavecchia

Civitavecchia, 1 July-2 August 2026

From 1 July to 2 August 2026, the Antica Rocca del Porto Storico in Civitavecchia will host the fifth edition of the “Nature in Contact” Festival, an event dedicated to science communication, biodiversity and the promotion of natural heritage.

Organised by the Francesco Spallone Natural History Museum of Marturanum Park, in collaboration with the BIOMA Cultural and Naturalistic Association, the Festival offers a rich programme of activities for visitors of all ages.

Throughout the event, visitors will enjoy exhibitions on mycology, entomology, geology, mineralogy, astronomy, botany and wildlife, together with conferences, educational talks, hands-on workshops, international online connections and, among this year’s new features, guided nature walks and field excursions.

The Network for the Study of Fungal Diversity (NDM) supports the initiative, reaffirming the importance of promoting knowledge of fungal biodiversity and encouraging science outreach activities aimed at the general public.

The Festival will officially open on Wednesday, 1 July 2026, at 10:30 a.m.

Admission is free of charge. The exhibition will be open daily from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and from 6:45 p.m. to midnight, until 2 August 2026.
