On 17 June 2026, the JoNeF Report 2025, entitled Bridging the Gaps: Fungal Information Systems across Europe, will be presented at the IMPEL General Assembly.

The JoNeF (Joint Network for wild Fungi) project has reached an important milestone with the publication of its first Open Access scientific paper in Conservation Science and Practice. The article presents the network’s recommendations for strengthening macrofungi conservation and promoting the integration of fungi into European biodiversity policies.

On 26 and 27 May 2026, the JoNeF team met in Malta in the framework of the IMPEL Nature Protection Expert Team meeting hosted by ERA – Environment & Resources Authority.

From 14 to 17 April 2026, JoNeF participated in Uppsala (Sweden) in the international congress Fungal Conservation in Europe: Evidence to Action, dedicated to the role of fungi in European biodiversity conservation strategies. During the mission, a site visit to several natural areas and an operational project meeting also took place.

From 28 to 31 October 2025, the meeting of the Nature Protection Expert Team (NPET) of IMPEL – European Union Network for the Implementation and Enforcement of Environmental Law was held in Palermo.

The Joint Network for wild Fungi (JoNeF) group met in Évora (Portugal) on 9–10
September 2025 for a working meeting and a site visit. The event was hosted by a
member of the University of Évora, who welcomed the team and facilitated the activities.

The activities of JoNeF – Joint Network for wild Fungi, developed by the network for the study of fungal diversity, will be at the heart of a presentation on 27 June 2025 at the OPTIMA Symposium in Palermo.

The Joint Network for wild Fungi – JoNeF, promoted by the IMPEL network, will take part in the “Nature Protection” Expert Team meeting on 20 June. The event will be an opportunity to present ongoing activities and the main goals for the 2025–2027 period.

On 23rd and 24th October 2024, the project team was hosted in Greece, in Thessaloniki for a face-to-face meeting and a site visit.
The site visit took place on Mount Paiko in Central Macedonia.

On August 11-15, 2024, the 12th International Mycological Congress (IMC12) took place in Maastricht, Netherlands.

On 29, 30 November and 1 December 2023, ISPRA hosted at its headquarters in Rome, the JoNeF working group for two meetings and a site visit.

On 22, 23 and 24 June 2024, the JoNeF working group met in Bucharest for two meetings and a site visit.
The site visit took place at the Comana Natural Park.
