The project “Mountains in Transition – Mycological Itineraries for the Knowledge of Fungal Diversity”, submitted by Federparchi – Europarc Italia (lead partner) in collaboration with ISPRA – Italian Institute for Environmental Protection and Research, Micocosmo APS and the Valle Camonica Mountain Community – Adamello Regional Park, has been selected by the Cariplo Foundation within the 2025 “Mountains in Transition” call for proposals.

As part of the collaboration agreement between ISPRA and CAI, a joint programme has been launched for the collection and sharing of environmental data along the Sentiero Italia CAI (SICAI), including fungal data.

A collaboration agreement has been signed between ISPRA and the Associazione Culturale Naturalistica Bioma, which now officially joins the network for the study of fungal diversity.

The National Biodiversity Network (NNB) is a technical infrastructure managed by ISPRA on behalf of the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security for the management, publication, and dissemination of geographical biodiversity information related to the national territory.

We are reaching out to gather data and records related to fungal species listed in the Italian Red List of Flora (Rossi G. et al, 2013. Lista Rossa della Flora Italiana. 1. Policy Species e altre specie minacciate. Comitato Italiano IUCN e Ministero dell’Ambiente e della Tutela del Territorio e del Mare).

Thanks to the participation of enthusiasts and professionals, the NMD photography contest has collected 34 images showcasing the beauty and importance of macrofungi in our ecosystem.

On 30 October 2024, the Institute for Environmental Protection and Research (ISPRA) signed an agreement with the Institute for Experimental Zooprophylaxis in the Venetian Region (IZSVe), establishing a strategic collaboration within the framework of the Network for the study of mycological diversity (NMD).

The collaboration between KCS Biotech, ISPRA, and the Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences of the University of Pavia (DSTA-Unipv), which began in 2022 and ended in 2024, aimed to investigate fungal diversity in a sample area owned by the company.
