Integrating the Fungi Information System (SIF) into the National Biodiversity Network

The National Biodiversity Network (NNB) is a technical infrastructure managed by ISPRA on behalf of the Ministry of Environment and Energy Security for the management, publication, and dissemination of geographical biodiversity information related to the national territory. The Network is composed of various public entities that monitor biodiversity and share their databases according to international standards of technological and semantic interoperability. Over time, several partners have contributed to populating the databases by sharing data, including those from official reporting such as the Birds Directive and the Habitats Directive. NNB supports the implementation of the National Biodiversity Strategy 2030, collecting and publishing data from monitoring activities funded by LIFE and PNRR projects, as well as from Citizen Science projects and initiatives.
