JoNeF at the OPTIMA Symposium 2025 – Palermo, 27 June
The activities of JoNeF – Joint Network for wild Fungi, developed by the network for the study of fungal diversity, will be at the heart of a presentation on 27 June 2025 at the OPTIMA Symposium in Palermo, entitled:
50 YEARS OF OPTIMA AND 30 YEARS OF FLORA MEDITERRANEA AND
BOCCONEA. International collaboration and ongoing projects on floras and taxonomy in European and Mediterranean countries
Presentation title:
SBI and ISPRA: working together to bring fungi into environmental policies – A case study from the JoNeF project (Joint Network for wild Fungi).
The JoNeF project, promoted by ISPRA and with the active participation of SBI, is developed within the IMPEL network and involves 19 countries.
The presentation will focus in particular on the Guidance produced by the project, and on operational recommendations for integrating fungi into European environmental policies.
Participation in the symposium is an important opportunity to share JoNeF’s experience in promoting fungal conservation and strengthening the dialogue between the scientific community and institutions.
