The JoNeF team met in Malta during the IMPEL Nature Protection meeting

On 26 and 27 May 2026, the JoNeF team met in Malta in the framework of the IMPEL Nature Protection Expert Team meeting hosted by ERA – Environment & Resources Authority.

The meeting provided an opportunity to share progress on the 2026 activities and discuss the next steps of the project, with particular attention to the role of fungal data in environmental monitoring and their potential contribution to the development of indicators supporting environmental agencies.

The programme also included a site visit organised by ERA to the protected natural areas of Majjistral Park and Xrobb l-Għaġin, offering participants an additional opportunity for field exchange and discussion among IMPEL members.
