Update of the Fungi Information System (SIF)

The Fungi Information System (SIF) has been updated with two key improvements:

    • Clear distinction between field and archive records for better usability.
    • Highlighting of records with deposited samples in the fungarium.

JoNeF project

The JoNeF Project (Joint Network for Wild Fungi) is an initiative promoted by ISPRA to advance the knowledge and conservation of macrofungi in Europe. Presented to the IMPEL network in November 2022, it was approved by the General Assembly on June 8, 2023, and officially launched in July 2023.

Mycology Surveys – Participate and discover the results!

The Network for the Study of Mycological Diversity is actively conducting surveys to improve its initiatives. Explore the results of completed surveys and take part in ongoing ones to contribute with your expertise.

New Members of the Scientific Committee of the Network

The Scientific Committee of the Network was updated on January 20, 2025. The members, now totaling 14, represent institutions such as ISPRA, the Italian Botanical Society (SBI), the Italian Mycological Union (UMI), the Roman Ecological Mycological Association (AMER), the Bresadola Mycological Group (GMB), the Association of Tuscan Mycological Groups (AGMT), the Trento Science Museum (MUSE), and the European Mycological Association (EMA).

The first 1,000 fungi have been added to the IUCN Red List

An important milestone for the conservation of fungal diversity is marked. The new update highlights the growing threats facing these often-overlooked organisms.

The Natura in Contatto Festival returns to the evocative setting of the Ancient Fortress in Civitavecchia’s Historic Port: a journey through nature, art and culture, promoted by Bioma and Ndm, with the free patronage of local and regional authorities.

Discovery of Rhodotus palmatus in the Fosso della Cecchignola

During a field activity, two researchers from ISPRA reported and collected a specimen of Rhodotus palmatus within the “Fosso della Cecchignola.” This Natural Monument, established as part of the Nature Reserves managed by RomaNatura and located in the Agro Romano area, represents a small but significant green space rich in biodiversity.
