ISPRA Fungarium
The ISPRA fungarium is a scientific collection specialized in the preservation of dried macrofungi specimens, established and managed at the Ozzano dell’Emilia (BO) site. It is a national reference infrastructure for the conservation, documentation and study of mycological diversity in Italy.
The fungarium is registered in the Index Herbariorum with the official code IFI and is an integral part of the activities of the Network for the Study of Mycological Diversity.
Every registered contributor of the Network can send specimens to the fungarium. The request must be made through the SIF 6.1 application at the same time as the survey submission and requires prior approval. Once approved, the contributor receives by e-mail the shipping instructions, which remain their responsibility.
The specimens are preserved and may be used for study purposes and taxonomic comparison.
The fungarium thus contributes to increasing knowledge on fungal diversity in Italy and represents a reference archive for the national mycological community.
